Q. What is the difference between the black, white and tan colors of wrap? Is there a temperature difference?
A. No there is no temperature difference between them just the color is the difference.
Q What is the difference between the 1/8” thick and the 1/16” thick wrap that you offer? Is there a temperature difference?
A. Again there is no temperature difference between the two. But the 1/8” thick wrap is more efficient at holding heat because it is thicker.
Q. How much heat can your products hold?
A. Most all of our products hold up to or at least 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. If you need something custom made just email us, we can make it.
Q. Will your turbo heat shield work for _____ turbocharger?
A. We have tested out turbo heat shields on a LARGE variety of turbochargers so most likely speaking…Yes it will fit as long as your exhaust side is the size that the product description says it will fit.
Q. What is your exhaust wrap made of?
A. All of our wraps are made of a v high performance silicate based fiber that manufactured with a series of coatings that is engineered to withstand very high temperatures.
Q. I have installed exhaust wrap before and right after I finish the instillation and start the car it will smoke for a short period of time. Why?
A. This is either because you dunked the wrap in water before you installed it and it is steam (which is ok to do, soaking the wrap before instillation is just a preference thing). Or it is smoke from the setup process of exhaust wrap. Depending on what you installed it on all heat wraps from any manufacturer will smoke for a short period of time. Don’t worry though. Everything is fine.
Q. Can heat wrap catch fire?
A. Not sure about anybody elses… But if you are asking about ours then the answer is NO. The only thing our wrap can do if you got it way to hot (im talking over 2000 degrees for a long period of time) is melt, since it is a silicate based fiber but you have to get our wrap REALLY hot in order for it to melt. If you application gets this hot then you may have problems J. BUT if your engine has a major oil leak or a gas leak and the wrap got saturated in it then it can catch fire because it would act as a wick just like anything would.
Q. How do you test products before you produce them?
A. We own a dynamometer, and have many test vehicles to test real world conditions. All of our products are tested at the prototype and engineering phase of development before they go on to production to make sure they actually work.
